I would like to celebrate Science week with a little model Einstein the children can make from this really simply kit I have created.
I have included the instructions on how I made my Lucky Leprechaun as the ideas are the same, just different colours of clothes and a different face.
I successfully had children in Year 1 and Year 2 make these models on their own.

I found a wonderful 21 day happiness course (https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/ks2-21-day-happiness-course-for-kids-and-teachers-really-works-11205744), which I personally use daily. However it is not very useful for younger children.
I rewrote it, getting the students to think about 4 things which are good in their lives and one moment of happiness from the current day. You would be amazed how hard this is for children to do. By doing this each day, every day for 21 days, picking out the positive and happy moments becomes a part of their every day existence.
It has an additional benefit in the fact that this is also an excellent point of time for teachers and children to discuss each day what makes them feel good and what went well on the day. I would recommend this as an afternoon activity.

I have been asked to think about Thanksgiving. I saw very little which excited me on TES and so I thought I would create and share 10 nice posters about being thankful. All I ask in return is that you click the little blue heart further down the page and follow me, so I can let you know when I create my next set of free topical posters. They would also be great for any time you need to teach about being thankful or for harvest festival.

Are your students studying about Literacy Day or Book week? I have created both a set of photos for display and a fun set of visual writing prompts. These creative writing prompts ask the students to look at each picture and use their 5 senses to describe the image. What can they see, touch, smell, taste, hear and feel in each picture? They then use these notes to write a fuller, more detailed description of the picture. This is a great way to prepare for the KS1 SATs tests and the KS2 SATs tests while still having a lot of fun!

Science week is a great time to discuss the importance of science.
Some countries such as India have Science Day, while other celebrate International Science Week.
The idea is for the students to draw a scientist at the start of the lesson... then compare what they thought science was (generally a wild haired, white guy doing crazy stuff in a lab) with what they thought science was at the end of the lesson and hopefully there has been a change of ideas.
This presentation has links to 2 great YouTube videos which explain why science is so important to everyone. I also listed some of key branches of science, with a brief introduction and pictures. The idea is to discuss how science affects our every day life and how in reality, we are all scientists at heart.
